    	   Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Cream butter, add sugar, beat until  light and fluffy.  Mix in flour and salt.  Add eggs (one at a time),  then add buttermilk and vanilla.  Continue beating until well  combined.  Pour into pie shell.  Bake 50 minutes or until knife  inserted comes out clean.
