Dredge meat in flour mixture. Melt shortening and brown meat well. Remove from heat.
Add all ingredients to meat EXCEPT sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix well and cook in a covered pot for 15-20 minutes. Then add sour cream and simmer—DO NOT BOIL!--for 10 minutes (uncovered). Serve over wide egg noodles or rice. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
